Hi, my name is Sami Wong :-)
I am a biracial Asian-American designer, illustrator, and artist from Omaha, Nebraska. I recently graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a BASA degree with a concentration in Graphic Design.
In my career, I envision collaborating with fellow artists, illustrators, designers, and innovators to pioneer new paths in creativity and design.
As a brand, I value transparency, creativity, inclusivity, ingenuity, and expression.
As an artist, I strive to make my audience feel comfort and joy through art that appeals to a person’s inner child. I love to channel nostalgia into my work through both color and the subject matter. I love the playfulness and charm that these aspects can bring.
As a versatile content creator, I bring expertise in graphic design, illustration, 3D modeling, writing, videography, and photography to deliver impactful and engaging digital experiences.
I’ve led high-impact projects such as billboards, ads, book illustrations, van wraps, and branded materials for community outreach programs and events. With expertise in digital and print content creation, event planning, and campaign strategy, I deliver cohesive and impactful results across platforms. Collaborative, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, I excel at presenting creative concepts to clients and stakeholders to gain approvals. By blending analytical expertise with a creative approach, I effectively solve problems and drive successful outcomes.
With a passion for creativity, I help organizations engage audiences, increase brand presence, drive initiatives, and make a meaningful impact.
Beyond my professional design work, my personal artist moniker, “samobobbio”, a cherished childhood nickname given by my sisters, embodies my creative journey and passion for evoking playful nostalgia through design and illustration. Although I primarily work with digital media, I also find fulfillment in traditional mediums. I also used to be a tattoo apprentice at a local shop in Omaha, and I still love to spend my free time practicing.
When I am not working, I am engaging in hobbies such as clay work, doodling, printmaking, spending time with my cat Eevee, going to cafes with friends (I <3 matcha), listening to music, and watching drama and fantasty shows and movies (The Witcher and LOTR being two of my faves).
I am always open to learning and growing my skill set in various creative fields.
